Day 283: Suburban Decay

For Context Read: How Ferguson Went From Middle Class to Poor in a Generation

“In 1990, Ferguson, Mo. was a middle class suburban enclave north of St. Louis with a population about three-quarters white. In 2000, the town’s population was roughly split between black and white with an unemployment rate of 5%. By 2010, the population was two-thirds black, unemployment had exceeded 13%, and the number of residents living in poverty had doubled in a decade.

The situation there is “really not so different than the rest of St. Louis County,” said Dr. Norm White, a criminologist with the Saint Louis University School of Social Work. “The problems we saw in the urban core have become the problems of the suburban umbrella.”

“The same decay that sparked unrest in one Missouri town is taking place across the country.”

On the surface it looks like what’s going on in Ferguson is all about racism, but it’s important that we have a look at the fact that Ferguson’s poverty and unemployment rate is worse than the national average.

stop killing us

“Ferguson is just the place that the scab got pulled off,” White, the criminologist, tells TIME. “The reason why this is so intense is that there are a lot of these little communities that have been left almost to rot. Physically the buildings are falling down. There are no social service programs.”

What can we really expect from people who are struggling in unimaginable ways such as living in poverty and homelessness? How come it’s so difficult for us to talk about the fact that having little to no money, with no end to the struggling in sight, how come this is not seen as a motivating factor embedded within the anger and the fears of the people of Ferguson?

I think mostly people are desperate and scared because they don’t know what to do or where to turn for help with their day to day struggles to survive. So when someone is killed like in a case like this, all hell brakes lose and still, we have the nerve to overlook the facts as their thrown in our face of how Poverty leads to War

“The greater the racial income gap, the deeper are the divisions between black and white workers, and the weaker are the unions and class solidarity.” Michael Reich; Study of The Journal of Human Resources

Truth is, what’s happening in Ferguson looks like war because it is war and it’s important to see the facts. And the fact is, our current Money System has failed us and we have to realize that what’s happening in Ferguson is happening in one way or another all around our world. The poor are getting poorer while the rich are getting richer and it’s important that we get clear on the fact that War is Not, never has been and never will be the solution.

The solution will no doubt require us to come together as a Group, to Support each other in bringing about a Money System that acts according to what’s best for all.

“There is nothing more dangerous than to build a society with a large segment of people in that society who feel that they have no stake in it; who feel that that have nothing to lose. People who have stake in their society, protect that society, but when they don’t have it, they unconsciously want to destroy it.” MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR

“I was very much clearly convinced; in spite of what I saw in the police which was murders and violence and all kinds of things. I saw that more than just an outflow, more just an outflow from the social condition and the lack of resources, the lack of money that caused most of the conditions that I have witnessed in the police. People simply did many of the things out of desperation.” Bernard Poolman

Day 245: House of Cards

It’s been a rough couple of weeks for me physically as I’ve been continuing my alternative treatment plan for cancer. With not feeling very well I’m hesitant to admit that I’ve been watching a little bit of television, and after having researched the topic, have become somewhat educated about how our political/money system operates.

So, it’s interesting, how the facts about how our world exists are everywhere to be understood if only we’ll use what is here and educate ourselves further and then, change it to serve us with a solution that will be Best for All – instead of accepting and allowing the rules of the Elite to Enslave us.
house of cards
The particular television show that I’ll be referring to is called ‘House of Cards‘. The show centers around Francis Underwood who is basically a Majority Whip who has his hands in/on every secret in politics, and, is willing to betray anyone and everyone in his attempt to become President.  Now obviously this is a television series however, research for yourself to see how accurate the moves within it are.

Alright so, if you don’t know, here’s the definition of a Majority Whip:

“an official in a political party whose primary purpose is to ensure party discipline in a legislature. Whips are a party’s “enforcers”, who typically offer inducements and threaten punishments for party members to ensure that they vote according to the official party policy. A whip’s role is also to ensure that the elected representatives of their party are in attendance when important votes are taken. The usage comes from the hunting term “whipping in”, i.e. preventing hounds from wandering away from the pack.” ~ Wikipedia

‘Party discipline’ is also important to understand

“Party discipline is the ability of a parliamentary group of a political party to get its members to support the policies of their party leadership. In liberal democracies, it usually refers to the control that party leaders have over their caucus members in the legislature. Party discipline is important for all systems of government that allow parties to hold political power because it determines the degree to which the governmental infrastructure will be affected by legitimate political processes.” ~Wikipedia

So, how does one get it’s members to support certain policies and how is ‘party discipline’ enforced? With Money.  Money is what gives one the Power. Now, the Lobbyist plays a key role in how the Power roles shift and are Inflated with Money and are backed by Major Corporations/ Elite who are the only ones who have the money it takes to enforce such ‘party discipline’.

What industries spend the most Money on Lobbying?

The following data was recorded by the Senate Office of Public Records. The top 10 industries for 2009 were:

Pharmaceuticals/Health Products – $199,323,702

Insurance – $122,065,251

Oil & Gas – $120,669,855

Electric Utilities – $108,163,536

Business Associations – $92,696,817

Computers/Internet – $88,847,937

Misc Manufacturing & Distributing – $84,363,782

TV/Movies/Music – $77,861,927

Hospitals/Nursing Homes – $77,465,842

Education – $73,913,389

“If you’re good at this game, you’ve provided your congressional quarterback with everything under the sun—including fundraisers, golf outings, travel, meals, and premium event tickets. Now you’re on your way. The American people may not know the details of what you just did, but they kind of suspect it’s happening and they hate it. And they should hate it, since it’s killing our country. Unfortunately, until we can change this system, that’s how the sausage is made.” ~Former Lobbyist Jack Abramoff

Yes, that’s how the sausage is made, it’s made of Money, a lot of Money and Deceit. It’s what keeps things as they are, where the majority continue to support the rich to become richer and most of us, we aren’t even educated enough to BEGIN to understand the basics of how this current money/political system operates. The fact is there will be no real Education reform because there is no profit to be made in that.

In fact, look again at the above numbers for proof that less and less is spent on Education reform and how what’s important and profitable is the Pharmaceutical/Drug Industry. All the while more than half of the federal prisoners incarcerated in 2010 were for drug crimes according to the Bureau of Justice Statistics.

Who of us has the Money to get a Bill to pass Congress anyway?  Only the Rich.

“I’m talking about giving a gift to somebody who makes a decision on behalf of the public. At the end of the day, that’s really what bribery is. But it is done everyday and it is still being done. The truth is there were very few members who I could even name or could think of who didn’t at some level participate in that.” ~ Former Lobbyist Jack Abramoff

That’s what it comes down to. This is how Countries are Governed. This is how Poverty exists and this is how the Systems that Govern our World operate and strangely enough, we’re OK with that.

I won’t pretend to know or understand every detail because I’m still Educating myself about how and why our current World/Money/Systems exists as they do.  However, what I do understand is that at some level,  we All realize that everything is Not OK.  How most of us are so busy trying to survive that we’ve failed to see that we’re not even aware of what we’re accepting and allowing.

There’s no time for blame and if we’re not even willing to see the facts – even as they’re presented to us even through the television shows we watch daily- if we’re not willing to change that which is enslaving us by our own hands, then folks, we’re in serious trouble. So much so that one can see how we bicker, compete and fight with each other, instead of coming together to bring about a Real Solution,  to bring an End to our own enslavement.

Our current world systems are run and operated by crooks who have all the money and it’s us,  the slaves who give them their power.   It’s Enough.

It’s simple. Educate yourself about the Living Income Guaranteed proposal.

If we’ve got the time to sit in front of the television,  then we better make time to study that which will set us free for real.

“People look at politicians and celebrities on the TV and the newspapers, glossy magazines – what do they see? “I’m just like them.” That’s what they say. “I’m special. I’m different. I could be any one of them.” Well guess what, you can’t. You know why? Cause in reality, mediocrity is where most people live. Mediocrity is the elephant in the room. It’s ubiquitous. Mediocrity in your schools. It’s in your dreams. It’s in your family. And those of us who know this – those of us who understand the disease of the dull – we do something about it. We do more because we have to. The deck was always stacked against us. You’re either a big leaguer, or you’re a slave clawing your way onto the “C” train.” ~ Former Lobbyist Jack Abramoff

Day 150: Inter the Suicide Net

Suicide Nets

Suicide by Worker

Inside Apple’s Foxconn Factories everything remains the same, however, outside the building of the factory giant – which employs 1.2 million people and supplies many of the biggest names in consumer internet gadgets and iPhones – the ‘net’ is taking on more and more meaning.

Employee dormitories are now equipped with protective and/or suicide nets which can be seen in the picture below.

When I saw the picture – which has been making it’s rounds on face book – something about it just didn’t sit well with me.  One doesn’t have to be the smartest kid in class to know by now that people within our world don’t really give a shit about each other no matter how much we pretend to.

The proof of how little we care is everywhere. We don’t care about the thirty-thousand + number of children around the world who starve to death daily, or the thousands upon thousands of people who don’t have clean water to drink, or even a toilet to shit in.  We only care about me, me, me and what can I get, get, get so I can FEEL better.  Ever notice the FEE in feeling?

So what’s the purpose of providing nets to the 1.2 million employees in China who are slaves to 76-hour work weeks?  That’s working 11 days in a row earning as little as £150 a month so that the rest of us – who don’t really give a shit about their overworked and underpaid lifestyle – can get some internet gadgets and iphones.

The way I see it, the nets that have been placed outside the factory dormitories, they’re like ‘hush money’, and prove how we exist in absolute denial of the Real Problem that exists within our current world/money systems.

It’s like saying: ” you know what, we really don’t care whether or not you want to kill yourself on our time but by God at least the nets will make sure you aren’t able to do it where the world can see it because the world doesn’t want to witness your suffering because we fear seeing the truth of what we accept and allow, so if we don’t see your pain we’ll never have to face ourself in realizing how equality is all that will make us stop caring only about making money.

When is enough enough?

Sharing is Caring – Investigate: Equal Money

The Movie: Casino Jack = Moving picture shows: Our Legacy

We watched a movie the other night called ‘Casino Jack’, and, for a moment-   I bestowed upon myself, so to speak, where almost immediately, my physical body granted me symptoms of aches and fever and a, a quenching of myself.  Still am a bit in fever, though – prefer fever – no fear.
The movie assisted me to see how helplessly I’ve acted as the effect of what I’ve caused and where I tell myself that I’m unable to properly examine the facts and present them for anyone to understand.  Where I’ve remained within my own delusional causes and effects which impacts me further into myself, where I didn’t and/or wouldn’t allow myself to understand my acting part as and within the current money system even as I’ve existed as it.

The moves and cons of one mans mind as he was walking as it, controlling legislative decisions and passing bills/money through the hands of congress and their pockets – how the bribes/causes passed, effects the lives of us all  – I suddenly saw myself in him in that everything I ‘thought’ I didn’t know – I suddenly knew, that I know, as do we all. We all really know what  we’re accepting and allowing and denying ourselves to see.

Even in my knowing, I denied it to myself because, I was scared to death to make a sound as me.  Sounds simple enough, but not so easy to say in words here.  Because the game I’ve played as life, has been the biggest of all cons – and as I played along time, I denied myself as life and so, life has denied me.  Everything here is me, everything here is you, and we are the causes and we are the effects.  What is here – This is our legacy = Fraud = We stand hand in hand as this…

Our legacy lies in and as our current money system. We know how to set us free, which is to set all free.  We Stand and Stop.  We Breathe, we support an Equal Money System.  The act in which we allow us as life here to begin  – releasing causes and effects of fear.

Giving us all the act of endowment -  so we can see ourselves as who we really are, as All as One as Equal.
